A Journey of Friendship and Wellness

I started Walking to Wellness when my dear friend Brenda Finley encouraged me to join her on Wednesdays for Prime Time for Women’s weekly program—and I’m so thankful she did. Through Brenda and the W2W program, I met the wonderful Lisa Whiting. Since then, we’ve shared meals, attended plays and concerts, and created lasting memories together.

One special moment stands out: Lisa and I met up at City Park during the Wellness Festival. While we walked, I mentioned I was flying out of Dulles International Airport for a long weekend with my daughter and how much I disliked driving to the airport. Out of the kindness of her heart, Lisa offered not only to drive me to Dulles but also to pick me up several days later. Her generosity truly touched me—it’s rare to find someone so selfless.

At Walking to Wellness, I also had the joy of reconnecting with Nancy, a former colleague. Since reconnecting, we’ve enjoyed lunches and walks filled with laughter and reminiscing.

These meaningful connections—both new and renewed—have all been made possible through Prime Time for Women. The friendships are priceless, and the weekly speakers add so much value. And of course, the walking itself is a vital part of the experience.

I’m deeply grateful to Brenda for inviting me and to all the incredible women I’ve met along the way. It truly has been an amazing journey.
