Meet PTFW’s Newest Board Members

In a 2023 article, I wrote, “According to DMC Clinic, ‘The need to be heard is one of the most basic, yet potent needs we have as social beings.’ Sharing our thoughts and ideas is how we connect, express what we need, and explain who we are at our core.”

This is true on a personal level, but it is also true on an organizational level. For organizations, especially nonprofits, it is imperative that those serving on the Board of Directors understand and are able to clearly articulate the mission to the broader community, connect and collaborate with one another, and commit to sharing their ideas, skills, experiences and talents with the goal of strengthening the organization.

A committed Board brings together individuals with different perspectives, professional experiences, skills and gifts. Board service is not simply about filling a position; it is about bringing your whole self to the table and contributing what you know, what you do well and what you are passionate about.

As the founder and CEO of Prime Time for Women, Inc., I am excited and honored to recognize Tina Fraley, Prime Time for Women’s longest serving board member and current President and welcome three new members to our Board of Directors: Sheri Chisholm, Lucy Linn and Jenny Tobery. Each brings a unique combination of commitment, enthusiasm, experience, skills and talents to her new role. We are grateful for their willingness to share those gifts with Prime Time for Women and look forward to all that we will accomplish together.

Thank you, Tina for your service and a warm and grateful welcome to Sheri, Lucy and Jenny! Tina and I are thrilled to have you as part of the Prime Time for Women family.

Christina “Tina” Fraley is a counselor, wellness professional, author, speaker, and community advocate whose work centers on helping people build stronger, healthier lives from the inside out.

Tina is the founder of FitMinded Living and SOLARA Nexus Wellness & Healing Center, where she brings together mental health, movement, mindfulness, and holistic wellness through an integrated mind-body-spirit approach. She holds a Master’s degree in Community Counseling and is also a certified personal trainer, trauma-sensitive yoga practitioner, and the author of Broken Road to Badass.

As a mother of seven, cancer survivor, and longtime advocate for women, families, and community wellness, Tina brings both professional experience and lived perspective to her leadership. She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel supported, empowered, and connected—and believes strongly in the power of community to change lives.

Tina is proud to serve as President and the longest-serving board member, where she continues to champion the organization’s mission, strengthen community partnerships, and help create opportunities for the next generation to grow with confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.

Sheri Chisholm is a seasoned educator and researcher with over 34 years of experience in higher education.  As a passionate advocate for women empowerment, she brings a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to PTFW.

Sheri has held progressive leadership roles in higher education at West Virginia University where she is currently the Principal Investigator administering National Science Foundation grant scholarships to underserved students seeking a biology degree. Newly semi-retired, Sheri joined PTFW to connect with other women in the community.  PTFW is especially grateful that Sheri is willing to use her grant writing skills to support PTFW’s efforts to offer FREE community-based programs.

From early childhood experiences and professional milestones, her dedication to advocacy for women is the cornerstone for her motivation.  She believes each woman has a unique voice and is committed to reaching women where they are in their journeys.  Outside of PTFW, Sheri enjoys golfing, reading, gardening, the beach and travel with her husband and family.   Sheri is always eager to connect and share more about the work and mission of PTFW.

Jenny Tobery spent most of her life in the Middletown Valley area. She and her husband Jim have a wonderful daughter and son, two awesome grandsons and a beautiful baby great-granddaughter.

Jenny’s volunteering began like many mothers in organizations supporting activities for children. When her daughter was little, Jenny helped organize a story hour at the Myersville Community Center. That led to the usual PTA assignments, as well as church and community organizations. Before her son even entered high school, she took on the challenge of the Middletown High School Sports Boosters Program and handled that for over 5 years.

Jenny has worn many hats and is a “Jill of almost all trades!” She began her career with the Atomic Energy Commission. Later Jenny worked at a preschool, then transcribed immigration hearings, and later became a Maryland-licensed title insurance agent. She ended her career working in the administration office at Tranquility at Fredericktowne, an assisted living facility.

Eager to share what she has learned about her own personal aging process, Jenny is delighted to find her place on the PTFW Board of Directors.

If you’ve spent any time in the local education community, you likely know Lucy Linn—though you might also remember her as Lucy Austin before her recent marriage.

After a remarkable 32-year career at Paramount Elementary School, where she taught Special Education, Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades, Lucy officially retired from the classroom. However, retirement didn’t slow her down. Instead, Lucy shifted her immense energy, heart, and leadership into serving Hagerstown and the broader Washington County community.

With her heart for service, Lucy volunteers at St. Ann Catholic Church where she runs the Micah Backpack Program. Blending her passion for service with her joy of connecting with new people, Lucy volunteers at the soup kitchen at the Salvation Army, where she also started a pickleball club.  In addition, with a goal of staying in contact with her fellow retired educators, Lucy now plays a leadership role in the Washington County Retired Educational Personnel Association.

Lucy loves spending time in nature, especially walking, hiking, kayaking. The only thing she enjoys more is spending time with her grandchildren! Lucy brings her commitment to lifelong learning and joy of connecting with others to Prime Time for Women.  This spring she joined Prime Time for Women’s Connection Over Competition Golf League, where she’s made many new friends and is enjoying learning a new sport. In fact, after having knee replacement surgery, she’s now hooked on the game!
