Prime Time for Women Supports Breast Cancer Awareness!
Look on google and you will see that every month and day of the year recognizes some mission, social cause or global initiative with the goal of increasing awareness to make our world a better place. But, in my opinion, not all are created equal. For example, Ice Cream Awareness Month doesn’t begin to compare in importance with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
For the first time, nine members of PTFW’s “Connections Over Competition Golf League” participated in the Par for Pink Golf Tournament to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness of Cumberland Valley. The tournament, which was a scramble format, took place at The Greens at Hamilton Run, the City of Hagerstown’s beautiful 9-hole golf course. The weather couldn’t have been lovelier, and everyone had a great time playing for a great cause.
Even though our league stresses the importance of connections over competition, you’d be mistaken if you thought our members didn’t bring their A-game to the tournament. Both first and second places in the women’s division went to PTFW members! Bernadette Wagner and Anita Wade tied with Sheri Chisolm and Amy Wilson but since Sheri and Amy had an albatross on hole #2, (that’s three under par which is incredibly rare), they were awarded first place!
Congrats to all the PTFW golfers on a great round! More importantly, congratulation on being compassionate women who care about and actively support those with breast cancer. You are all winners in my book!
