Blood Is Thicker Than Water
This weekend, my siblings and I did something new—we left our kids and spouses at home, spent the night at our parents’ house, and woke up Saturday morning just like we did decades ago, mom and dad waiting for us with breakfast ready.
Then, the three of us spent the day at a sunflower festival, acting like kids again—bouncing on inflatables, getting lost in a maze, picking flowers and yes, diving into a corn pit.
As a business owner, I’m constantly thinking about ROI (Return On Investment), client deliverables, and growth strategies. But this weekend reminded me of something crucial: the relationships that ground us are built in moments like these—laughing until your sides hurt, getting corn kernels out of your pockets and hair, and remembering who you were before who you became.
And sometimes the most productive thing you can do is be completely unproductive with the people who love you most.
