Social Security: What Every Woman in Her Prime Should Know

According to AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) the Social Security Administration (SSA) has recently unveiled big changes to how it will operate, including ending some over-the-phone services, cutting the workforce and closing many regional offices.

AARP is proud to advocate for seniors and fight to protect social security so that all older Americans can safely access the benefits they have earned over their lifetimes.  A recent article on the AARP website states, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that older Americans continue to see no disruption in their payments and receive the information they need to stay informed and take action on changes at SSA.”

Because every worker pays into Social Security and because Social Security is the primary source of income for many older Americans, it is imperative that everyone understand all of the proposed changes. AARP, on behalf of all Americans is:

  1. Actively fighting to stop changes to SSA customer service.
  2. Calling on congress to intervene cuts to phone services for seniors.
  3. Advocating with local, state and federal elected officials to halt changes that will negatively impact seniors.

If you want to learn more or of join the effort to save Social Security, millions of Americans will be grateful!
