Burn Without Burning Out!
Thank you, Prime Time for Women, for the wonderful honor of joining you on International Women’s Day to celebrate, connect, and accelerate action. It was an absolute joy to share this meaningful experience with such an inspiring group of women committed to making a difference. The energy in the room was incredible, and I am grateful to have been part of this vibrant community.
As I reflect on our time together, I am reminded of a truth I deeply cherish from my journey as a nun to the corporate world: each of us already has the courage and energy we need to accelerate action and expand our impact. In the chaos of daily life, my book, Burn Without Burning Out: 7 Micro-Mindfulness Habits for Clear Thinking, Decisive Action, and Recovery from Burnout, emphasizes how micro-mindfulness practices can help us reclaim our presence, reduce stress, and amplify our intentions.
At the Prime Time for Women event, I shared insights on micro-mindfulness: brief, intentional practices woven naturally into your day. These are not extensive rituals but small shifts, such as setting a simple daily intention or practicing one-sentence journaling. Even a 10-15-second intentional pause between tasks or taking a deep breath and sighing aloud can significantly reduce stress and help reset your mindset.
We explored how micro-mindfulness involves deliberately engaging your senses: savoring the beauty you see around you, enjoying the taste of your favorite treat, or simply listening intently to the world, like the song of the frogs, a reminder to pause and pay attention before tackling life’s toughest tasks.
Another key takeaway I loved sharing is the practice of gratitude. At the end of each day, quietly reflecting on the work of your hands and acknowledging the good you have created or experienced offers profound renewal and perspective. This gratitude reflection invites us to love ourselves with compassion.
I was inspired by the openness and energy of all the women gathered at Prime Time for Women. Your curiosity, thoughtful questions, and eagerness to embrace new practices moved me profoundly. It was a privilege to be present with you and to witness your strength and leadership as women accelerating action.
Thank you for welcoming me into your space, allowing me to share these micro-mindfulness practices, and showing how powerful women can be when we collectively focus our intentions. Let us continue accelerating action by nurturing small moments of mindfulness that create extraordinary impact.
