It’s Not Only Okay to Be Different…It’s Fun!
Most nonprofit fundraisers aim to raise as much money as possible by engaging as many donors as possible. But in mid-November, Prime Time for Women flipped the script and hosted Dine with Prime, an intimate fundraising event limited to just eight women. It was a refreshing departure from the typical large-scale fundraiser—hundreds of people seated in a cavernous hall, conversations strained by noise, and dinner served to the last table long after the first has finished.
Dine with Prime was intentionally designed to be the opposite: a small, meaningful gathering of eight women sharing a delicious home-cooked meal and engaging in conversations that truly matter. It was a fundraiser—but an unusual and impactful one, rooted in connection, authenticity, and shared purpose. It was an evening filled with meaningful connections, powerful conversations and delicious cuisine including classic caprese salad, lasagna Bolognese, herbed garlic bread, fresh green salad and the world’s best biscotti for dessert!
As the Founder and CEO of Prime Time for Women, I deeply understand the powerful impact that social connections have on women’s physical health and emotional well-being. “Be seen. Be heard. Inspire.” is more than our tagline—it’s our mission, our purpose, and our passion. The presence of each guest, the stories they shared and the inspiration they offered added to the success of the evening …because women are stronger, healthier, and happier together
Our theme for the evening, “Rediscovering Me: Life After the Nest,” invited attendees to reflect on who we are beyond motherhood. As “empty nesters” we don’t need to audition for the next role in our lives—but to live life to the fullest we do need to envision new possibilities, explore fresh options, and pursue their dreams with renewed passion. Let’s be honest: it’s always easier to do this with support and encouragement.
Dine with Prime offered every guest a safe, welcoming environment to share their boldest dreams and lingering doubts—and the opportunity to receive the unwavering support of other women who are on similar journeys. The questions we explored together, “What’s next?” and “What’s my encore?”, served as powerful invitations to reimagine the next chapter of life with intentionality, creativity, and joy. I remain deeply grateful for the chance to welcome to my home such remarkable women–who showed genuine interest in and heartfelt support for one another.
I’m especially grateful to Ashton Vattelana, a knowledgeable Financial Advisor at Edward Jones and a deeply engaged community leader, for sponsoring this event. Her generous support enables Prime Time for Women to continue creating intimate spaces where women can gather for powerful conversations over a shared meal. She doesn’t just understand that women are stronger, healthier, and happier together—she helps make it a reality.
PTFW plans to offer Dine with Prime on a quarterly basis. Click here to suggest topics or menus for future events.
