Rae Gallagher is the Executive Director for Girls on the Run of Mid & Western Maryland, serving young girls and adolescents in Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties. In Girls on the Run, young women explore their own identities and build self-awareness and self-care strategies, while creating connections to others, nurturing healthy relationships, building empathy, and feeling empowered to celebrate and share their strengths in support of their communities.
Rae is an avid runner and believes in the transformative power of sports and physical activity, especially for girls and young women. Through her work with Girls on the Run (GOTR), Rae is committed to breaking down barriers to participation and helping women of all ages harness their full potential.
Rae holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in public administration and nonprofit management. Outside of her non-profit work with GOTR, Rae is an elected member of the Board of Education in Frederick County where she lives with her husband and her own two GOTR girls.
