Julie Wagner has over 30 years of community engagement leadership. She excels in strategically guiding charitable investments and implementing programs with a strong focus on health and racial equity. Currently she serves as a consultant at the Asian American Center of Frederick. During the COVID-19 response, Julie played a pivotal role as the Head of Product Adoption at VAULT Technologies, Inc., for the national rollout for the PrepMod public health solution. As Vice President of Community Affairs at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, she led a robust philanthropy effort, overseeing a portfolio of 100+ grants to address health and social determinants of health. As a Commissioner at the Maryland Community Health Resource Commission, she significantly contributed to shaping the state-level health grant response.
Julie’s commitment to community leadership is evident through her roles on various committees. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Washington Aids Partnership Steering Committee, she previously served as Board Secretary for the Maryland Philanthropy Network and as a Board Member for Philanthropy DMV in the Washington region, and on the B’more for Health Babies Initiative steering committee. Julie was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame in recognition of her leadership of the team’s Community Affairs outreach.
Educated at Towson University with a B.S. in Mass Communications and Business Administration, she also completed the Greater Baltimore Committee Leadership program, Johns Hopkins University/Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers (WRAG) Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility, and the WRAG Putting Racism on the Table equity training.
