Margie McWilliams has worked in the public health arena in healthcare, marketing, and health education for nearly 40 years, all across Maryland. A graduate of Hood College (B.A. in English/Political Science, 1985) and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (Graduate Certificate, Public Health, 2000), Margie holds great passion for improving the overall state of health and wellness in her community and the greater world around her.
Since 2005, her experience has primarily been in the elder care arena, holding admissions and business development positions in skilled nursing & assisted living communities, skilled home health, and personal care agencies. Currently, she acts as Community Engagement & Business Development Liaison for HomeCentris Personal Care in their Western Maryland Division (Washington, Frederick & Carroll Counties).
She and her husband of almost 2 years, Tracy, live in Frederick with their two cats, Lorna and Rita Pusheen. They are self-described Disney fanatics. Margie believes in Walt’s penchant for seeking out ways to create and nurture relationships with as many colleagues and new connections as possible. The product of a (then) women’s college, she believes in the power of women to lift each other up, and is thrilled to have been invited to contribute to PTFW.
