Eun-Joo has 35-plus years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including serving in executive positions in international health/development, professional associations, and philanthropy. Most recently, she served as the Founding Executive Director of the Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco, where she continues to volunteer. She has consulted for the United Nations and nonprofits in strategic planning, programming, evaluation, and grantwriting. Her recent consulting and volunteer work includes other Bay Area nonprofits — Asian Women’s Shelter, Korean Center, Inc., Oakland Asian Cultural Center, and Simple Steps Community Connection. Eun-Joo is passionate about mentorship and especially empowering young women, and has been involved with both throughout her career. She also has a more recent interest in issues of aging and elder care, especially in underserved communities. Born in Seoul, Korea, Eun-Joo lived most of her life on the East Coast before moving to California. She has an A.B. from Harvard University and a Master’s from Columbia University’s School of International & Public Affairs. She loves traveling (60 countries & counting), cooking, photography, and taking long walks/hiking. (She looks forward to hiking with PTFW soon!)
